The Aotearoa Lodge Terms & Conditions

All reservations made via The Aotearoa Lodge website are made subject to these terms and conditions and the person making the reservation will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions on behalf of all persons who will be staying at The Aotearoa Lodge under the reservation (once the reservation is accepted and confirmed by The Aotearoa Lodge). Definitions

In these terms and conditions:

  • “We”, “our”, and “us” mean The Aotearoa Lodge.
  • “You” and “your” mean the person making the reservation.

General

You may only use the Site if you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. The Site is not intended for and should not be used by minors. If you are under eighteen (18) or unable to form legally binding contracts under applicable law, you may contact a hotel directly for assistance. Please note that additional terms and conditions may apply to reservations, purchases, transactions, uses, or activities on or through the Site. You agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions and any other applicable additional terms and conditions disclosed on the Site or in connection with your use of the Site. You agree by using this Site that you are responsible for using the most current version made available by The Aotearoa Lodge website and that we are not responsible for any issues arising due to your use of anything other than the most current version of this Site.

Photographic Identification

When you check in, you may be asked to provide photographic identification.

If you are unable to provide such identification, your reservation may be cancelled and you may be liable to pay us an amount equal to the full reservation amount plus any other costs incurred by us in connection with your reservation.

The Aotearoa Lodge Right to Cancel / Errors / Mistakes

The Site may contain technical inaccuracies and typographical or other errors in connection with information displayed on the Site, including, without limitation, rates, fees, stay details, or availability applicable to your transaction. The Aotearoa Lodge assumes no responsibility or liability for such errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. The Aotearoa Lodge shall have the right not to honour reservations or information affected by such errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. The Aotearoa Lodge shall have the right to make changes, corrections, cancellations, and/or improvements to such information or reservations based on such information, at any time, including after confirmation of a reservation.

Reservations

You may only make reservations for yourself and your invited guests or for an individual for whom you are authorised in advance to act. You may not make reservations for any other purpose, including without limitation for purposes of reselling rooms, reservations or other benefits, posting, marketing, advertising, or otherwise distributing rooms, reservations, benefits, or availability (including without limitation on third-party websites), making false, fraudulent, or speculative reservations, reserving rooms in anticipation of demand, making reservations for purposes of reselling rooms, or in an attempt to circumvent The Aotearoa Lodge, policies, terms or conditions. You may not use this Site to make reservations related to any commercial activity (unless specifically permitted by the hotel) or any unlawful activity. Reservations made, sold or transferred in violation of these Terms & Conditions may be cancelled without advance notice at The Aotearoa Lodge's sole discretion.

Payment / Deposit

All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card is required at the time of making a reservation via The Aotearoa Lodge website as well as on check-in to the hotel or an alternative hotel-approved form of payment, such as an advance deposit. Except for when making a reservation for a prepaid rate, you will be charged during your stay rather than at the time of making a reservation. In some situations, a hotel may require a deposit, in which case the deposit requirement and amount will be disclosed at the time of making the reservation. You may also be charged as disclosed in the hotel’s cancellation policy.

  • Payments may be made by credit card (as indicated for online bookings or on-site) or by cash or EFTPOS at on-site.
  • We only accept VISA and Master only for credit cards.
  • If you are settling your account by credit card please note that a 3% credit card transaction fee will apply. You may choose to change the method of payment from check-in to cash or EFTPOS, as these methods of payment do not attract this fee.
  • You agree that any charges for services to you, not billed at the time of your departure, may be added to your account for settlement as arranged or may be charged to the same credit card used to pay the account at the time of departure or to the credit card used to guarantee payment of your account.

Rates and Charges

You agree that you will pay to us the room rate for each day of your stay and any additional charges up until the time you advise us that you have departed from our hotel.

All prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars (unless otherwise specified) per room per night and are inclusive of GST.

Prices are subject to availability and can change without notification due to fluctuations in charges and currency.

The “from” rates displayed on the website are indicative rates only and are subject to availability & terms and conditions apply. Please select dates and check availability to get the most up-to-date pricing.

Cancellation Policy

For any booking that requires payment on check-in to the hotel, the booking must be cancelled by 48 hours before arrival to avoid the cancellation fee.

Cancellations after this time or no-show are subject to a cancellation fee which will be charged to the credit card used to guarantee payment of your account. The cancellation fee is equal to the accommodation fee payable for 1 night of stay. A no-show is when you do not check in before the office hour of your booking reservation.

Refunds Policy

Refunds will be made at the discretion of the Management of  Aotearoa lodge. 

Credit card refunds will be processed immediately once approved. Refunds will be made directly to the credit card that was charged during the original transaction. Alternative arrangements must be requested in writing. 

Charges made for non-arrivals, or in the event of cancellation of pre-paid accommodation or package may be refunded at the lodge's discretion and only on application to the hotel in writing. 

Refunds for non-arrivals or failure to meet cancellations policy may incur a deduction of the first-night accommodation rate from the transaction value. 

All refunds will be made in New Zealand Dollars.Transactions processed in an alternative currency using the currency select option at the time of the transaction will be refunded in the currency that the transaction was made. Refunds in New Zealand dollars to cards issued outsideNew Zealand may be affected by currency exchange fluctuations. Where these fluctuations result in the refund being less than the original transaction amount.

Check-in

The Standard check-in time is from 3.00 pm to 7:00 pm.

You must advise us of any change in the number of persons using the room and agree to pay any additional charges for additional persons not included in the number stated at the time of registration.

Check-out

Check-out time is 10.00 am on the date shown for your departure unless we agree to another time.

Departure after that time may incur an additional room charge.

You must return the key and/or security card for the room at the time of your departure and agree to pay a charge for the replacement of keys you lose or fail to return same.

Minor

Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Children under the age of 12 years using existing bedding can stay at no additional charge in the room with guardians/parents, note the maximum occupancy per studio unit is 2 adults (or 1 adult/1 child).

Miscommunications / Lost Transactions

We are not responsible for communication failures, errors, difficulties, or other malfunctions or lost, stolen, or misdirected transactions, transmissions, messages, or entries on or in connection with the Site.

We are not responsible for any incorrect information associated with any transaction or transmission on or to the Site regardless of whether such incident is the result of user error, system error, or human error.

Releases and Indemnity

Any monies or other valuables, goods or vehicles that belong to you, brought in or onto the room, grounds or car park remain your responsibility and we are not responsible for their safekeeping.

You agree that regardless of your length of stay there is no tenancy or other proprietary rights created under any laws.

We grant you a licence to stay in our hotel and we reserve the right to terminate the licence at any time.

Use of Information

If you agree we may use your email address to send you information.

General

These terms and conditions are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.

At various times, we may collect personal information about you and/or the persons accompanying you during your stay or attendance at an event at The Aotearoa Lodge.
